Dr. Hoag has spent more than three decades in the world of fundraising. He has provided counsel and instruction to international nonprofits and NGOs in more than 20 countries worldwide.

In his two-decade career in higher education fundraising, Dr. Hoag coordinated efforts that raised over $50,000,000 (US$) for projects including a successful $17,000,000 (US$) building campaign effort that he personally coordinated.

Dr. Hoag received his undergraduate degree in accounting. His graduate research focused on global nonprofit work. For his doctorate, he earned a Ph.D. from the University of Bristol looking at the handling of wealth and charitable giving. Today, he teaches as a visiting professor at seven graduate-level institutions in four countries: Canada, Philippines, South Korea, and USA.

He is a top-notch speaker who is highly recruited to lead trainings on fundraising that have been found to contain a great mix between tactical instruction and practical application. Because of his education and experience, he is keenly equipped to train adult learners efficiently and effectively.

Presently, Dr. Hoag works globally to help nonprofits and NGOs to administrate according to standards so they organizations are positioned for success and sustainability.

In the USA, he speaks widely at conferences both in plenary and workshop settings as his reputation for serving groups well is widely known. He also writes widely for blogs and nonprofit publications. He was trained by the Center for Creative Leadership which trains administrators of Fortune 100 companies.

Dr. Hoag lives in Littleton, Colorado, with his wife Jenni. They have been married for 27 years and have a grown son and grown daughter.
